Drowned in a wash of scarlet light, towering over a crowd of mixed age and stereotype, a shock of corkscrew curls bounce wildly, being tossed around by a lost face. Snapshot glimpses reveal the wide eyed stare of twenty-year-old Martin Grech; a skinny post-hallowe’en figure capped with an utterly disproportionate mass of hair and with limbs extended, contorting in over-exaggeration akin to a Parisian street mime-artist.

Thundering chords and a haunting voice smash around the room making way for breezes of calm and serenity before returning at twice the force. In a live show instantly so livid in contrast to his more soothing appearances on record, Martin leads a infinitely younger and prettier new band. And for the first half of the set they churn out the bass-driven riffs as a solid unit before leaving him and an acoustic guitar to their own devices.

A humbled yet equally humbling; irate yet equally smiling, and hungry yet equally fulfilling performance, ending with an explosively perfect rendition of personal favourite, 'Dali'. Martin Grech is back with twice the force and a hundred times the beauty.
