Grand Central starts in the spring of 1995. The first fifteen releases include Aim’s first 12”s, the uber-rare ‘Concentrate’, ‘Soul Dive’ and ‘Loopdreams’. The first full length album on Grand Central was 'Frying The Fat' (GCCD100), a various artists release featuring First Priority, Aim, Funky Fresh Few and Tony D. The highlight of 1998 is clearly Rae & Christian's seminal debut album, Northern Sulphuric Soul (GCCD/LP104), which features artists such as Jeru The Damaja, Texas and The Jungle Brothers. It is at this time also that Veba hit Mark Rae’s world and the trio (Christian, Rae and Veba) record genre-defining tracks such as ‘Spellbound’; ’Anything U Want’; ‘Fool’; and ‘Divine Sounds’. Aim's 'Cold Water Music' is finally released in 1999 and, as one music hack put it, it's an album that "glides from Nepal to New York with sublime stoner cool". Home to artists as diverse as Jon Kennedy and Fingathing, Grand Central is a unique label that continues to support the talented rather than the commercial. Grand Central Records Ltd
