From the bouncing Public Enemy energy of 'Fortress Europe' to the haunting gallic balladry of Sinéad O'Connor on '1000 Mirrors', to the soundtrack tapestries of 'Cyberabad' and swooning heavy dub rock of 'La Haine', I think Asian Dub Foundation (with legendary dub producer Adrian Sherwood on the faders) may have at last produced their very own 'Mezzanine '....A complete and seamless fusion of hip hop, rock, ragga, drum and bass, indian traditional, dub, punk....

It's difficult, short of going through the twists and turns of every second of every track, to pin this down to a few simple adjectives, so I'm not going to try.. I love the fact that this musically accomplished fourth album is the antithesis of bling bling, yet has every bit as much urban credibility as the pokiest peckham garage tune, and all I can think about is that they're touring in the second half of February (tour dates below), and I'm frankly gagging to see this album performed live.

  1. Wed 19th Feb - OXFORD Zodiac
  2. Fri 21st Feb - LONDON Shepherds Bush Empire
  3. Sat 22nd Feb - BRISTOL Anson Rooms
  4. Sun 23rd Feb - MANCHESTER University
  5. Tue 25th Feb - LEEDS Metropolitan University
