The latest in the hot flurry of emo bands that are plodding eastward from aMORica, Armor For Sleep are, like so many others before them, playing solemnly hackneyed, highly plagiaristic emo debris into our sweet and tainted homes in a serious attempt to connect with an audience of disconnected, disaffected youth who find some sort of nihilistic comfort in power chord-sullied pop music and harmonised, unimaginative teen lyrics.

As ever, there are two great songs on here that fill the unashamed emo cynic with hope, only to be let down by the other eight. A slight redemption can be made with the strange little guidebook theme-linked to the title, otherwise there's nothing else to say that you've not read before.

This band seems to get a lot of good press, e.g. Rock Sound Magazine. Why? You are so right, they blow like a hurricane.

I think this album is quite good... Am debating going to their London show...
The albums catchy if you like this kinda thing.

I'd imagine it's popular with the kids.

Armor For Sleep - What To Do When You're Dead

everything, including their artwork, is a less good copy of brand new.

Re: Armor For Sleep - What To Do When You're Dead

Wha?? But they sound nothing like each other. I wouldn't even put them in the same genre.

Re: Armor For Sleep - What To Do When You're Dead

i heard one song that sounded similar to brand new. "Car Underwater" it was called.

i like brand new, im not saying brand new aren't good.

the artwork is similar.

with time to kill

I get what you are saying about Brand New, if I would have to say what band they're like, I would probably say Brand New, even though they don't sound much a like.

I like both bands.
AFS puts on an amazing show &are really nice guys.
