‘Get Me Off’ is unlikely to have the same sort of impact. It’s nowhere near as in-your-face, it doesn’t include anything like enough shouting, and it’s dark disco electronica is far too classy to get up most people’s noses.
As with the majority of Basement Jaxx tracks, there is a novelty aspect to ‘Get Me Off’, but then, this music is not designed to be seriously dissected and studiously analysed. Just take some advice from the masters and “Let your body be free”. Summer is here, the beat is king, and the Pied Pipers of the dance floor are once more calling the tune.
