However this single is relatively odour-free. You certainly can't fault the Bellrays for enthusiasm as they rattle through 'They Glued Your Head On Upside Down' with cheery aplomb, and they're more convincing than a lot of overly-hyped bands of late. It's essentially punk with tinny garage-rock production, but the addition of raucous soul vocals to the garage-rock sound is an interesting touch. It must be said that their singer doesn't have as good a voice as has been implied by some, and they do unfortunately sound, in places, worryingly like Tina Turner fronting the Stooges; however overall they provide an interesting take on a scene that is otherwise getting rather stale.
