Is anyone else getting slightly bored with
System of a Down? A year ago they were fresh and exciting, an escape from the generic nu metal that was clogging up rock clubs and radio stations. We were all glad to see '
Chop Suey' topping MTV2's Most Wanted chart, and preventing the Kerrang! channel from becoming wall-to-wall Blink 182 clone TV. But that was a year ago. We've listened to the album a million times, to the point where it isn't fun. The unexpected tempo changes aren't unexpected any more. The funny bits stopped being funny on the thousandth listen. We can quote the statistics from '
Prison Song' without even thinking about what they mean.
System of a Down aren't an escape from the tedium any more, they've become the tedium we need to escape from.
Unless they do an Incubus and go shite on us, System's next album is going to be fun and exciting again. But 'Toxicity', the fantastic piece of work that it is, has become stale. This is one of the more average songs on the album. Catchy, but not 'Chop Suey'. I used to like it, now I can take it or leave it, but I have a feeling that, unless I can completely avoid music TV for the next three months, I'm going to grow to hate it.
System Of A Down - Aerials
Had music telly for but 6 weeks. Am sick of everything on it.
Had Toxicity for a year. It's so normal for me now I don't bother listening to it on my stereo any more.

Re: System Of A Down - Aerials
1. It's a review. Where does objective come into it? My opinion is *subjective*.
2. Where did I say it wasn't any good? I said Aerials was "one of the more average songs on the album... Catchy", and that Toxicity was a "fantastic piece of work". I'm just sick to bloody death of them.
3. Since a single is but a fleeting thing, me being sick of it at the moment is very relevant to the review. In ten years time, I might love the song, but the single won't be in the shops then, will it?
4. I haven't heard Pet Sounds thousands of times. I haven't even heard it once, and I don't have any intention of hearing it in the forseeable future. I'm sure it's very irritating and not to my liking at all.
Never explain, never apologise... oh well.
Nick.

Your "article" sucks because:
1) You don't like SOAD because you have heard them too many times? Huh?
2)That's not a reason.
3) You biatch.
4)Has no-one noticed how sexy Daron (guitarist) is?
5) There is plenty more albums where that came from. How about thier first album (self titled)? Also, if you've heard THAT too many times (FYI You can never hear D-Devil too many times) go to http://www.deerdance.cjb.net and go to the audio page to hear some unreleased stuff that got leaked onto the internet.
6) MY GOD!!!
Peace, love and S.O.A.D,
R xXx
