Plinky plonky keys, baggy beats, irritable vocal wailing – we’ve heard all this before, and they were called Happy Mondays. Whether or not The Rapture will ever make an album as good as ‘Pills, Thrills and Bellyaches’ is debatable. Lyrically and musically, they’re nowhere near, save for the odd bit of cowbell-inspired genius like ‘House of Jealous Lovers’ (TUNE). ‘Sister Saviour’, whilst not totally awful, is a let down; an unremarkable slab of dance-pop which plods along at a lazy pace and doesn’t seem to go anywhere. Might sound totally boss if you’re monged out of your head on E, mind. The remixes which come with it are rather uninspired. Hmph. The Rapture? The Crapture, more like. HAHAHAHAHAHA! (Sorry.)

the rapture

everytime i hear the singers voice, i have a strong urge to strangle something. i could just about deal with "house of jealous lovers", but then i saw the live recording from the mtv2 bash, and cant listen to them anymore without screaming.
