Thumped chords, slow burning choruses, a sense of bloodied yet unbowed majesty, and that warm comforting feeling of a returning loved one.
A little more complex, a tad more progressive, but essentially cryogenically frozen in musical time. And while we’ll never back inertia over forward thinking, some bands get to a point where you know it’s just right.
The song? Social alienation, despair, uneasiness, Northern stuff. The usual. Grrreat.

Doves - Some Cities
It's really grown on me - it's still no There Goes The Fear or Pounding, but it's a cracking tune and it has one of the most affecting lyrics they've ever written.
Doves - Some Cities
It sounds like 'Heatwave' by Martha And The Vandellas on tamazepan. Lovely.
