The Suffrajets signed to Sony by the time they’d hit 18, narrowly escaped unharmed from a coach crash on the M25, and lost their drummer, Gemma Clarke, to Babyshambles. All this and a tour with rock twats Towers Of London, and surely that alone would have been enough to finish off lesser bands.

‘Feisty’ is perhaps a word exclusively invented for The Suffrajets, and the limited edition ’Sold’ is certainly that. Production-wise though, it sounds like it was recorded in a hurry, running against the clock, as the producer cracked the whip to get the job done before the money ran out.

‘Sold’ then, was knocked out in a hurry, played at breakneck speed, and is all the better for it. It isn’t reinventing the wheel that’s for sure but for a quick three minute fix look no further.

The Suffrajets - Sold

I reeeeeeeally don't like this song. I think it's really weak. The video sucks, the band don't look quite right and it just sounds very average. If they were hoping getting Gemma back from t'shambles was going to help them out...they'd be grossly mistaken.

The Suffrajets - Sold

Great review.
Very well written, imaginative, creative and anything but lazy.

Re: The Suffrajets - Sold

er, thanks? or are you perhaps being sarcastic?

The Suffrajets - Sold

i think he was bein sarcastic.
so are the band a mix between Babyshambles and Towers of London? did you listen to the CD or just get a copy of the recording schedule.

and i cant believe it was Gemma who used to drum fer em. saw em live ages ago in she looked completely different in person. vierd

The Suffrajets - Sold

Gemma still drums for them - she and Alex (guitar/vox) ARE Suffrajets. Its their band, and she was only 'on loan' to Babyshambles.
And they are NOTHING like Babyshambles OR twats of London, thank heavens. They always strike me as much better live than on record, so before passing judgement, see em at a venue near you first. If you still don't like them, fair enough.

The Suffrajets - Sold

em, actually my post was meant to be sarcastic, calling the reviewer like. if you read what i said you will see i put that i have seen them live, which i have. and i wasnt impressed
