"It's contagious" trills Regina as this jittery piano ballad rushes towards its conclusion, and she's not wrong. It's so much more than that, though, it's something quite, quite beautiful. With a voice to die for and a lyric sheet from somewhere only she knows, artists like Regina Spektor don't come along too often.
When they do, you'd be advised to lend an inquisitive ear and let her lead you by the hand into a wonderful world of scattershot piano, gorgeous strings and a delivery that attempts to master several vocal disciplines at once and somehow succeeds at them all.
Varying from an almost hip-hop style flow to delivering a soulful mantra with consummate ease, 'Us' showcases an artist with talent to spare. Now, if only she'd go and lend some of the excess to James Blunt...
This is the BEST
track on the album.
I'm in love with this song
Completely infatuated
adore
Fantastic
obviously...though attention mustnt be caught up in this track alone...all her tracks are single worthy...
Saw her live
in Dublin. In Whelans which is a cracking venue and she was mind blowing. She seemed pretty shy when talking to the crowd but was very witty. Great weird performance and the compilation c.d. is cool also. Long live Regina Spektor.
Whooooooo
This is the first I've ever heard of Ms Spektor thanks to DiS radio. It's lovely, think I'll sniff me out an album or two.
me too
I think her shyness on stage is soo endearing...had only just heard the album when I saw her but came away loving her more than ever!
Regina Spektors...
voice is as cool. I think i want to marry her.
there's probably
a queue.
I'm glad
She's good live as I'm seeing her in Leeds. And have heard conflicting opinions, one of the most stupid coming from the Sun in that 'she is as annoying as an adult in knee socks'. ?
