After several false starts and a long-term hiatus, The Upper Room have finally got the record deal and financial backing their initial demos suggested would be a formality.
'All Over This Town' has been a staple of their live set for the past couple of years (and was their low-key debut release in the middle of 2004) and still sounds as fresh and invigorating as it did back then.
Sounding like Interpol if they'd been produced by Ian Broudie, 'All Over This Town' is a worthy precursor to their album, which should see the light of day this year. That said, knowing the band's chequered history it'll probably emerge sometime in late 2009.
i think
this song is shit. low grade editors and theyre also fucking bland.
^^^agreed
I stumbled across these live
a few weeks ago. I didn't know who they were until afterwards, but they were quite underwhelming
i picked up their ep
or promo cd (there are 4-5 songs on it) at work and 'all over this town' is actually alright compared to other songs.. which are embarassingly bad and plain and not memorable at all.
are they playing at the camden crawl? i will avoid them.
