Datarock... Cansei de Ser Sexy... Klaxons... If, by any chance, your infatuation with any of these collectives is heading the same way as the summer’s grasp on the atmosphere, perhaps you need a little menace - something autumnal perchance, with a bit of oomph? Maybe you need Mekon?
A double A-side single (both tracks taken from the album Some Thing Came Up), this blends dirty electronic beats with all manner of clanging samples and allows the robotic vocals of Rita Brown on ‘Boy Bitten’ and the stuttered swagger of Suicide’s Alan Vega and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie on ‘Blood On The Moon’ to meander over the beat as they please. And oh boy, if it isn’t one of the singles of year.
Remixes from Padded Cell and In Flagranti take the originals for an extended stroll and return with a techno bounce and handclaps – coming in at 20 minutes including the mixes there’s many an album that offers less entertainment.
You want to dance? You need a little danger? Get this - it bites for sure.
This is an awesome
double a-side. I don't know what they're charging for it, but it's worth it. Awesome.
