Hot Club de Paris: Everyeveryeverything
This is the second single from Liverpool three piece, and new bezzie mates of Maximo Park, Hot Club de Paris. Lead track ’Everyeveryeverything’ is at best alright: unpolished boy-shouty pop, that sounds more akin to Northern Uproar than their sharp-suited mentors.
B-side ’Hello Comrade (I Quit My Job)’ is a much more interesting offering. The playing-with-my-mind 7/8 beat and car alarm riff belie the ode to dole-boredom of the lyrics, and it all comes over like Bromheads Jacket’s scally cousins. It’s a shame this is the track that didn’t make the album.

Do any of their songs NOT have silly titles?

Hot Club De Paris...
Are way better than Maximo Park. I saw them in Derby supporting Mates of State (I think..) and they reminded me a bit of Q and not U, only more English, Indie and erm scouse. Etc.

hot club de paris...
were utter shite, does that make them a shite band? i don't think so, i'm willing to give them another chance. you talk about crowd reactions, the reaction at sheffield was rather turgid if you ask me.
and they've a long way to go to be even compared to maximo park let alone be better than them.

hot club
are all kinds of goodness

Saw them last night.
Funny. Not as good as Maximo or Love Is All, and though amusing, had little in the way of really excellent tunes. That said, they found it humorous when I kept shouting 'Lose some weight', so, you know, respect and all that.

you can't judge crowd reactions
from sheffield gigs. especially when they're supporting big acts, with impatient+ indifferent fans. go see them at a small gig where they might have fans in the crowd. and stand at the front. and banter. they're one of the wittiest bands ever rever.
sweet
