About nouseforaname
Interests: Well I'll start with my favourite thing in the whole world... snowboarding! I have been for many years and love travelling to the Alps each season. The sport rules, the soundtrack kicks ass and the nightlife is the best in Europe!
I'm also into music in a big way... gigs I attend are usually in Manchester (but sometimes Newcastle). I have been to Leeds Festival 3 times and I have to say the best so far has been 2000. I have seen nearly 200 bands and met about 10 (how scary is it meeting famous people?!) I also write reviews for local bands and gigs.
Other interests include travelling... Manchester, London and Newquay are some of my favorite places... going out with friends, carlisle's nightlife (oh yeh really!), sitting in cocktail bars trying to be classy (never works...) and shopping :)
Music taste: It's quite varied I guess...
Sublime, NOFX, Incubus, Hundred Reasons, Halo, Kinesis, Less Than Jake, Finch, Foo Fighters, AFI, thisGIRL, Deftones, Second To Last etc.
Anything else?: Well most of you won't have a clue where Carlisle is (especially any southerners out there)... well it's just above the Lake District in the north west.
The major gig scene here isn't too great. 'Chart acts' who have visitied our fair county this year include Wheatus, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Louise, Status Quo and the Bluetones.
However, the underground gig scene has been growing in recent years. Bands such as thisGIRL, Halo, King Prawn, [spunge], Capdown, Tribute To Nothing, Dog Toffee and local heroes Opiate can often be found playing the smaller venues.
Just a message for anyone out there in Cumbria: get out and support your local gig scene!
